Watch Jason Bourne's Thrilling First Full Trailer
"I remember everything."
The Bourne movies were some of the most successful action films of the past decade, making more than $1.2 billion at the box office worldwide. Now Matt Damon is back as the amnesiac super-spy in Jason Bourne, which opens in July. The first trailer is now live--check it out below:
Director Paul Greengrass is also returning to the action franchise. He and Damon previously collaborated on the second and third films in the series--2004's The Bourne Supremacy and 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum. In 2012, an attempt was made to reboot the series with Jeremy Renner in the lead role, but The Bourne Legacy was both a critical and commercial disappointment.
In a recent interview with EW, Greengrass spoke about where we find Bourne after nearly a decade away from the action. "He's been in the shadows of Europe," he said. "He's been active and he's been doing hard physical work. Definitely not sunning himself on the beach.
"You don't make a movie unless you're 1000 percent committed to make the best movie we can," Greengrass added. "You don't make this kind of movie unless you think it can be a worthy successor to the other movies we made."
Jason Bourne hits cinemas on July 29, 2016. It also stars Vincent Cassell, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, and Tommy Lee Jones.
