The original story is below.

Following yesterday's teaser, believed to be for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Activision has now posted a new one. The one is more hopeful in tone than the first, and also instructs fans to message this new CODMessenger page on Facebook.

Do that and you will begin a puzzle of sorts. Charlieintel solved it and has discovered that it mentions some kind of an announcement coming tomorrow, May 2, at 9 AM PST / 12 Noon Eastern.

Just catching up on the Infinite Warfare teasers? Check out this post to learn more about what's been revealed so far. You can also read Charlieintel's in-depth coverage here.

This year's Call of Duty game is in development at Infinity Ward, the creator of the popular Modern Warfare series. It is also believed that Activision is working on a remaster of 2007's an-favorite entry Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

GameSpot will bring you all the news about this year's Call of Duty game when it's announced.

The next Call of Duty may not be the only big-name FPS to be announced next week. Electronic Arts said recently that it will announce the next Battlefield game on May 6.

Awwwww it's cute activation are so scared of titan fall 2 that they are putting out a quick and dirty port of cod4 the game created by the makers of Titan fall lol sorry I won't be buying this trash cod game I will be buying. Titan fall 2 the game with a real game team not this call of duty trash that at this point is lost and only taking ideas from better more creative teams in the gaming industry... cod is just a me 2 game at this point .David Bowie would vomit at this bad cover of his classic song. This team isn't creative at all the only thing they are doing is stealing ideas from up coming games they fear like Titan fall 2

Interested. I'll likely buy it. I mean it's the next Call of Duty game, how can I miss out?

...by not buying it? Oh, right, I could do that, too. We'll see.

@ninjaxams: every COD developer suck. either its IW or treyarch or sledgehammer.

all copy paste same stale formula over and over since 10 years. waste of time. rather hype for Doom and shadow warrior 2

I wish we could go a length of time 3 years minimum where the dev's pour everything into the game and actually advance the IP beyond what it is now...

maybe say F it and release different games each entry, tactical shooters, FPS, RTS something....

imagine a COD maybe a SWAT style game, 6 man squad that if you plan the assault well enough you get a better outcome than if you just went in guns blazing, plan the assault, execute and adjust on the fly to changing conditions....

RTS literally command all war assets from the mobile command center, maybe you have a set number of units to use, 2-6 fireteams, 1 air wing, 1 tank squad and mortar and howitzer batteries and you'd have to manage your assets and use em wisely but after each mission any injured units would be patched up or temporarily out of action and replaced to keep full active squads......basically you'd be trying to keep everyone alive over the long haul but you'd have a larger picture of the battles......

artistic creativity, gods if a idiot like me can come up with this crap alone on the spot what's Craptivision's excuse???

look at what the Dirt franchise did, they experimented with new ideas and came back full circle to the ideas seen in the first Dirt game so if these guys can go and experiment every other game why not Craptivision???? fear is what it is....fear of losing it all but they can't keep this up forever......

@darthrevenx: I'd love a new tactical shooter like SWAT but I think it's pretty obvious the big companies (or even the small ones heh) don't wanna do it, I guess there's just too little of a market nowadays. Rainbow Six Siege is a tiny step back in that direction and many people seem to like it, but I think it's still very much a modern action focused shooter with all that over the top destruction and such.

However there are a couple in the pipe from indies that maybe, and that's a big maybe, could bring interest back if they happen to catch on. There's Epsilon, which yes comes just after the failure of Takedown but they seem to be doing it right this time. There's also Ground Branch. There are actually many more but those two seem to be well along and actually not too far off, although Ground Branch was in the works for ages.

@Keitha313: I think they don't wanna do anything like that anymore because they can't get fit all the tech and gadgets in and that's probably what most players like.

@hystavito: I doubt people care about wall running and those other materialistic, unrealistic things.

They're killing their franchise slowly the hype that once was about CoD games has well and truly died.
