Watch Pee-Wee Herman Play a Getaway Driver in Trailer for New Movie
The stars at night are big and bright...
Pee-Wee Herman is on another adventure, but this time, it will take place on the streaming service Netflix. In Pee-Wee's Big Holiday, debuting on March 18, Paul Reubens reprises his role as the lovable goofball Herman, and the character will go out on his own on his first holiday. The trailer for the upcoming film shows off what the character will be up to.
This is the third feature film outing for the character, with the last film, Big Top Pee-Wee, coming out back in 1988. Since then, Reubens as made appearances as Herman on Comedy Bang! Bang!, Wrestlemania, and even on Broadway, which was syndicated on HBO.
When the film was greenlit, Reubens tapped real-life friend Joe Manganiello to join him in this new adventure. "You want to not like (Manganiello) in a certain way. He's like pretty close to being perfect," Reubens said in an interview with USA Today. "But he and his wife (Sofia Vergara) together are the dorkiest, nerdiest people. It's just hilarious. People don’t get to see that side of him."
Netflix continues to push out its own programming and is moving towards producing more feature films, which includes the Adam Sandler film, The Ridiculous Six, which broke records for the company.
Pee-Wee's Big Holiday will come to Netflix on March 18.
