Ahead of its release tomorrow, Ubisoft today released the launch trailer for open-world racing game, The Crew, which gets you up to speed with what the game is all about: driving across the US in fast cars.

The Crew will be available tomorrow for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game will not be released on PlayStation 3 or Wii U.

Networking woes have marred the releases of some big-name games so far this year (see Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Driveclub), but Ubisoft is confident The Crew--also an online-focused game--won't suffer the same fate.

Developer Ivory Tower said last week that The Crew's extended beta testing gives Ubisoft confidence the game will have a smooth rollout. However, the developer also acknowledges that unforeseen problems for The Crew--like any other game--could arise at release.

"The launch of any online game these days has potential issues, but I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach," a developer said last week. "If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game's stability."

For more on The Crew, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

No actual gameplay to be seen. How are trailers like this useful?

One of the bigger disappointments for me. The demo was so generic compared to FH2 and the best racer ever, Burnout 3: Takedown. Honestly, if you're not out to make a better racer than Burnout - why bother?

oh i've just learned that it's always online.

that makes my decision of not buying it a lot easier. as it did for destiny. heck i could barely finish the trial because i was getting constantly disconnected for some fücked up reason, and each time i was, i just left the freaking game to play something else that actually works. scrëw all always-online games.

What an awesome trailer! Why can't I get THAT game? I played the beta of The Crew, and it was good, but that's it. Average, competent, with a few surprises but nothing to entice you. Like almost every open world driving game, it's the casual, forgiving physics model that lets it down. You were close with this one, Ivory Tower, but you fell into the same trap as many others. Still, I will buy it because the street racing genre is pretty bone dry these days, and I want to support it.

<< LINK REMOVED >> The gameplay is below average, and so are the graphics. It could be cool if you have a lot of friends playing.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> go play need for speed underground its an arcade racer they all cant be the same. the ropey physics could come from some of the mmo stuff whitch does get better cause of the upgrades. when you steal this race car you can tell the handling is way better but it also helps to adjust the settings in game

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> I don't WANT an arcade racer; that's my point! I want an open world racer with a robust, nuanced handling system that takes time to master (and doesn't force goddamn traction control all the goddamn time!). Driver San Francisco is the closest we've come in recent years if you ask me. The Crew, despite obviously trying very hard, is still an unabashed arcade racer.

To all the people saying you cant play offline...........

'Speaking to << LINK REMOVED >>, The Crew's creative director Julian Gerighty assured race fans that whilst connected play is probably the best way to experience the game, you'll always have the option to go offline and play the full single player campaign solo if you feel like it'

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Nowhere in that article did it say it could be played offline, only that you could play the missions by yourself. This sounds like it's going to be similar to Destiny in that you can beat it by yourself, but you need to be connected in order to do so.

So this is Test Drive: Unlimited 3? They just renamed it because TDU2 was average.
