The Division runs on Ubisoft's Snowdrop Engine and is the first Ubisoft game to use the technology.
Earlier this month, a Ubisoft developer said it was important the computer version remain "in check" with the console editions. Some took this to mean the PC version was held back, but Ubisoft later clarified that this is not the case.
"From the beginning, the PC version of The Division was developed from the ground up, and we're confident players will enjoy the game and the features this version has to offer," Ubisoft said at the time. "And the feedback from PC players who participated in the recent closed beta supports this."
Although the console versions of The Division will offer some graphical settings, the PC edition will include more.
In other news about The Division, the game's open beta recently ended. It attracted 6.4 million players across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, representing a new record for a new IP's beta on new-generation consoles.
The Division's full release is scheduled for March 8. Ubisoft has high hopes for it, as the publisher recently said it could join Destiny, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed to become of the biggest new IP launches ever.
