I think EA is a great example of what happens when a company gets to big. When you buy out the ability for another company to buy into a license like the NFL it becomes a problem. It limits choice and in the end QUALITY suffers due to lack of competition. The game Monopoly wasn't just a game it taught the lesson of how bad a monopoly is. In the end gamers get a weaker product. The last 2 Madden games have been better but it's a shame EA & the NFL have shut the door on anyone else getting to producing an NFL game.

EA has also proven they can take a license like Star Wars and totally blow it. How in the hell a company can screw that up shows you again that EA has gotten so big that they don't give a damn. Which leaves gamers angry. At $60+ per game at some point people will walk away and we will see another home video game crash.

Lets also not ignore the fact that technology is the main job killer in the world. If we download everything then bye bye Game Stop. I love owning books, comic books, movies, video games, that sit on a shelf. I own every Madden game since it came out on the Sega Genesis. The cover art and all the 'new' upgrades listed on the back are cool to read. Every Madden game is an annual snap shot of not only what was going on in the NFL but also what was going on with video game technology.

How about the giant known as EA produce great games and sell them in stores like Game Stop? Nothing beats going into a store full of people that share the things I enjoy. The 'download' everything mentality is a bore and says a lot about those who embrace it. When you no longer have a job to support the things you download, good luck to you. You're gonna need it.

Nobody cares about a competitive league for a casual game. This is like competitive Mario party, it just don't matter. Leave the competitive scenes to games that take a degree of skill, not this "stand on square and spam projectiles" stuff. Fun game, not competitive.

@Renegade__angel: if it doesn't take skill then why can't everyone be playing in the overwatch league then. Lots of money being made for playing a game that takes no skill. typical troll comments these days.

@swatleader: Give top CS:GO players a week and they will have these pros whipped. CS:GO, DotA 2, League and Starcraft 2 are completive games with high skill caps that are competitive games. Overwatch is too simple and too hand holding.

This League is paying out for those players currently but it's not looking promising for those teams that have a 20 Million Dollar buy in. The game may be popular but when the entire player base is casual players, they won't care about esports.

I've been at the top part of completive games. Diamond in League, LEM in CS:GO and Master Tier in Starcraft 2. I know what competitive gaming is, and even with all the spam about their new League in the client the numbers aren't pleasant for the investors. Blizzard can pay shills to promote it all they want but it's a joke, and with Overwatch numbers going lower every month it's going to get worse. The game won't last like League, CS:GO or DotA 2. Starcraft 2's death was the game was too hard for most folks, it was for me, that's for sure and I was at the top. But the other 3 games I listed are old as hell and still popular.

Blizzard would never agree. Doubt Valve would allow it either. They're not trying to prove which game is better they don't care, but if you were ever to reach high Elo in a competitive game you'd understand hat Overwatch is not competitive.

Boring game boring league, $90,000,000 toilet flush for twitch. How can a spray and pray game be competitive ? Watching it put me to sleep. The teams are a joke. Looks like half them are from UCI. Feed the damn kids they looked starved. Blizzard puts out a game and then starts their own league with players they pay. Then sign a broadcast contract of $90mil with twitch. This isn't LOL, where they bring in 300k viewers Be lucky to see 75k and 97% running adblock

There are plenty “curious onlookers” playing Overwatch every day. They see the payload right there, they do nothing to push it forward.

@Saladudo: Basically every multiplayer in existence you mean... with team mates who don't even bother trying to take the objective. Annoys me when there are like a few seconds left on the clock and they are standing right next to the objective zone but don't bother running into it to help the team win.
