Wii Music dated for Australia

Just when you thought November couldn't get more musical, Nintendo Australia today revealed its upcoming band simulator Wii Music would hit Australian shores on November 13 at a price of A$99.95 ($65.89).

The date will place Nintendo's opus on shelves squarely alongside competitors Rock Band and the game that is arguably Wii Music's greatest competitor, Guitar Hero World Tour, with the pair slated to be released locally on November 7 and 12 respectively.

The announcement follows Wii Music's official Australian debut last night at the Sydney Opera House, where celebrity personalities like Marcia Hines and Karl Robertson (drummer for Thirsty Merc) were on hand to demo the game to journalists.

Wii Music gives players the choice to play with over 60 different instruments from around the world, like the saxophone, marimba, and the electric guitar, to more than 50 songs.

Since its initial announcement, the house of Mario has remained mum about the included tracklist, only revealing a handful of the songs, including Madonna's "Material Girl," Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," and "Beethoven's classic Symphony No. 9."
