Now Playing: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Story Trailer

Shadowlands is set to be pretty different from previous expansions. Players will be able to change their character's gender without a fee, and the level cap will be brought down to 60 to decrease the "power creep" phenomenon. If your character is at a higher level, their level will be scaled down, which should make it easier for new players to hop into Warcraft's new content. The Covenant system will include aspects from different previous expansions as well and will allow you to align yourself with one of four factions to gain access to special powers, though you'll be able to play around a bit before you make your final decision on which to join. These factions will also have a full max-level narrative campaign of their own.

If you happened to pick up the $120 Shadowlands Collector's Edition preorder, you'll be going into the expansion with all kinds of extra goodies, including a flying mount, a pet, a transmog quest, a weapon effect, a level boost, and more. Note that this edition comes with a code for the Epic store, not Steam.
