WWE Vs. AEW's Empty Arena Shows, KISS Gets Its Own Wrestler, And More | Wrestle Buddies Episode 2
In episode 2 of Wrestle Buddies, Mat and Chris look at wrestling in the time of COVID-19, when WCW let KISS design a wrestler, and how the ring ropes work.
In episode 2 of Wrestle Buddies, GameSpot's professional wrestling podcast, entertainment editor Chris E. Hayner and news editor of entertainment Mat Elfring have a very serious debate before things ultimately get very silly.
First up, the Wrestle Buddies look at the current state of televised wrestling and debate which company is handling their weekly shows without an audience better, WWE or AEW. Both have their pros and cons and, ultimately, we all win because there's so much wrestling to watch right now.
Next, Chris and Mat revisit a time when WCW was desperate for ratings and enlisted none other than the rock band KISS to design its own wrestler. Was it a massive hit that saved the company from the brink of destruction? Of course not, WCW went out of business a year later. Still, it was a very weird time to be a wrestling fan.
Lastly, class is in session as Mat is going to explain exactly how ropes work in professional wrestling. While ropes surrounding a ring might sound like a simple enough concept, the rules of physics and, sometimes, reality, don't necessarily apply.
New episodes of Wrestle Buddies are released every Thursday on the podcast platform of your choice.
