X01 Europe: First look: MotoGP Xbox
THQ announces MotoGP for the Xbox at the recent X01 Europe Xbox event in France. Full details inside.
At the recent X01 Europe event in Cannes, France, THQ announced that MotoGP will be released on the Xbox and PC platforms. The game is not related to the PlayStation 2 motorcycle racing game of the same name, which is being developed and published by Namco.
The Xbox game offers 10 tracks. The game includes all the current statistics from the real-world 2001 MotoGP season. It features both arcade- and simulation-style gameplay. A multiplayer mode is also planned, supporting up to four players. Bikes and riders can be manually altered and you can increase your rider's attributes in the GP and training modes. Unlockable tracks, riders, and cheats will extend the replay value of the Xbox game.
The game is being developed by Climax Brighton. We'll have more info on the possibility of a US release soon. The Xbox and PC versions of the game are expected to release in Europe in Q2 2002.
