Xbox gaming executive Phil Spencer has responded to the announcement that Capcom's fighting game Street Fighter V is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 for its console release.
He says on Twitter that Microsoft can't win every business deal, and that he'd rather invest in Killer Instinct, Microsoft's own fighting game franchise.

"Business deals happen," he explained to a fan. "We won't do all of them. When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours."
Spencer added that, while Microsoft will make exclusive business deals from time to time--Dead Rising 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider are two examples--the company also sees owning IP as of paramount importance.
"There is a mix of deals to do," he said. "But making sure we own IP [that] Xbox gamers love is critical [in my opinion]."
Spencer went on to say: "I'd love it if Xbox fans could play all the games, but business just makes some deals happen. It's all part of competition."
After a trailer for the game arrived ahead of schedule, Street Fighter V was officially announced on December 6 during Sony's PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas. The game, which is also coming to PC, will support cross-platform play between PS4 and PC. Capcom has not announced a release date.
