Now Playing: Red Dead Redemption 2 - Best Games of 2018

We're well into May now, and Microsoft has detailed some more games coming to Xbox Game Pass for both PC and Xbox One this month. As usual there's a little crossover between the libraries, but most of it is unique to each platform. Most importantly, however, is that one of the most-acclaimed first-person shooters in history will be playable on PC for the first time, and Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers get the game for free.

First in the Xbox One announcement, Microsoft reiterated its prior note that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming on May 7. That date will also add the open-world survival game DayZ. A week later, on May 14, the classic RPG Final Fantasy IX will join the lineup, followed by the indie game Fractured Minds, which explores anxiety and mental health issues, on May 19.

Meanwhile, the PC announcement also shows Final Fantasy IX coming to the service, along with Halo 2 joining the Master Chief Collection, and the 4X strategy game Endless Legend. Both announcements also note that they recently released Moving Out and Streets of Rage 4, in case you missed those.

Both services will also rotate out some of their respective libraries. Notably the Xbox One service is losing Grand Theft Auto 5, Doom, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, while the PC version will rotate out Rise of the Tomb Raider. You can check out the full lists of games both coming and going below.

Game Pass is an all-you-can-eat subscription service offering full game downloads for Xbox One or PC for $10 per month apiece. A Game Pass Ultimate subscription offers both services, along with Xbox Live Gold for online play, for $15 per month.

I can’t believe GTA V is leaving already! I didn’t get a chance to finish it, tried to make progress yesterday but I kept getting booted out and a couple times the game just crashed on me!

I am aware the games are not an permanent thing and I am glad I can get those games at an discount. I still like the program as I can play the games before making an decision rather than blindly buy them and if I do not like them and go through he++ to get my money back.

This game pass is a load of bollocks! Why the hell do they take games away so quickly, what's the point of adding them in the first place, just so that we can demo them and then they expect us to pay for the game!! Whats the point of paying £15 a month or whatever it is in this case to join game pass? Seems we are essentially paying them £15 to demo games, the games for gold model is so much better, at least in that we can play the games in our own time and not expect to rush through games.

I would have liked to replay GTA5 at some point, but its gone before i could even start it, i also wanted to try out Metal Gear Survive and looks like that is going aswell in a few days, absolutely no point in starting it now, Microsoft if you are taking a game away, at least give us 3 months notice so that we can schedule to play it!!!

@lionheartssj1: I was thinking the same, only i didnt realise it was actually on there. I've had my eye on it for a while on Steam or whatever, wish i'd known it was on Game Pass to play.
