Xbox: Get Rewards for Spending Money on Free-to-Play Games
Microsoft expands its Xbox Live Rewards program to encourage you to spend money on free-to-play games.
Microsoft has announced a new program that offers up rewards for people who spend money on free-to-play Xbox games. Xbox Live Rewards members (join here free) can now earn what Microsoft is calling "FREEdom Rewards."
A post on the Xbox Wire explains how this works. When you spend at least $30 on a single free-to-play game in one month, you will earn 2,000 Rewards credits. This resets every month.
Alternatively, if you spend at least $5 over a three-month span across on a free-to-play game, you'll get the same 2,000 Rewards credit allotment, but only delivered every three months. This offer specifically runs January 1, 2017 through March 31, 2017.
Finally, you can earn 3,000 Rewards credits in a month by spending at least $5 on microtransactions for three different games. This offer is good every month, resetting on the first day of the month.
You can then spend your Rewards credits on thing in the Xbox Store such as games, TV shows, movies, and more. Read the full Xbox Wire post to learn more about how all of this works.
There are many free-to-play Xbox games, including World of Tanks, Star Trek Online, DC Universe Online, and Warframe, among others.
