Xbox One Adds PUBG, Okami, And More New Games This Week
Here's what's coming to Xbox One this week.
This week is a big one for Xbox One owners. Nine new games arrive for the system this week, including the phenomenally popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which makes its home console debut on December 12.
PUBG arrives in early access on Microsoft's system via the Xbox Game Preview program. While it's officially slated to launch on December 12, some players had a chance to play it before then due to time zone differences; you can see exactly when the game was available in each region here. PUBG runs for the same price as the PC early access version--$30--and weighs in at a surprisingly small 5.24 GB. Players will also have a chance to purchase special cosmetic item packs that will be exclusive to the Xbox One version.
PUBG isn't the only notable Xbox One game this week. Arriving alongside the title on December 12 is Okami HD, a high-definition port of Capcom's classic Zelda-esque adventure game. The title will be available digitally from the Xbox Store for $20 and supports 4K on Xbox One X. Okami first debuted in 2006 on PS2 and was subsequently ported to Wii and, later, PS3. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10 in our initial Okami review and said the game is "so well crafted from top to bottom that it's bound to impress just about anyone who gives it a chance."
Also out on Xbox One this week is the beautiful and critically acclaimed adventure game Night in the Woods, which arrives on December 13. It's followed by a handful of titles on December 15, including the musical puzzle game Circuits; the retro-style dungeon crawler Hammerwatch; and the bizarre platformer Ultimate Chicken Horse.
