Xbox One Exclusive ReCore Also Set for PC Release

It's NOT an exclusive therefore it should no longer be referred to as an Xbox One exclusive. Just saying...

Funniest thing is we know virtually nothing about the actual gameplay. Yet look at the hype this game is getting. Most of which was simply down to it being an exclusive.

The way people act towards "exclusives" never ceases to amuse me.

@mjc0961: Like Frozzik said. They want in on the pc market and trying to get customers to their own store with a full priced game during a time you could get AAA games for 2-5$ on steam would be a very bad business decision.

And the choice is still there, if you have a very selective game taste that only likes the general "dudebro" games (lowering your alternatives to play in the meantime) and the patience of a child then yes waiting a few months extra is out of the question thus you buy into a closed platform and stick with it. Most pc gamers are older so we are talking full time work, families and more limited time to game and also more patience to get the version they want. I mean look at ROTR, why would I ever play it on x1 when I'll get the pc version this month? It's not like there are no other games to play during this time. Hell I'm not even done with FO4 yet and probably won't be when ROTR releases on pc.

Also with Gears Ultimate it was revealed for x1 THEN announced for pc, same thing with Killer Instinct. And DR3 and Ryse were even marketed as x1 exclusives until much leter just dropping on pc. ROTR as we know was announced as a timed exclusive from the get go. Recore, Sea of thieves and Fable etc are up front announced for both so they most likely are released at the same time on both. They are not beeing spinned as x1 exclusives as the other ones were.

I absolutely agree with Phil about having a choice of platform (even though I think they want to be sure to get a return for their investment rather than care about pc gamers). No game should be held hostage on any platform really, but especially on old outdated hardware.

It's coming to PC, they are just waiting for the best time to release. Especially since it'll likely be Windows 10 and app store exclusive.

As a fan of gaming I am very stoked to see more of this game. They have brilliant minds working on it and we have already seen the charm and beauty they want to bring to us, and have made note of their AWESOME inspiration.

You don't like Xbox, because Xbox sucks, because somebody said so...? But you are salivating all over your PS4, and want to play this potentially amazing game? Well go get Windows 10 than and get a $1000+ PC build, then go activate an XBL Gamertag on the Xbox app, download this game, and become an Xbox gamer on your $1000+ PC. Than maybe you want to play this in the living room? Well than you are able to buy an Xbox One for $350 and use cross-buy to download the game to your new console as well with all of your cloud saves. Either way the Xbox brand sees profit.

It is an XBOX exclusive. Maybe not an XBOX ONE exclusive. You will not see this game on Steam or DRM free.

Literally every Xbox console exclusive I want is on PC or going to it. Thanks MS, I highly appreciate. I don't care for Halo, Gears or Forza but if those ended up on PC I could only imagine how much the net would blow up at the announcement.

This game is now as exclusive to X1 as Street Fighter 5 is exclusive to PS4, i.e. it's not really an exclusive game anymore, so why refer to it that way?

Only fanboys would find negativity in news that will allow more people on another platform to enjoy a game.

Then it's not still an Xbox One exclusive so why even describe it that way?

Microsoft is better off leaving the console market and become a PC developer next gen

So in other words, the Xbox One has sold like shit so we need to start offering these "exclusives" on PC as well so our devs can hit the sales marks they want. Guess that's what happens when your gaming console is a VCR first game console second. Before any butthurt xbox fanbois get in a hissy... PS4 sucks ass too. It just sold a lot more.

Exclusives just aren't as exclusive as they used to be.

And they continue ot misuse the word "exclusive". If it's coming to PC, call it a console exclusive so we know.

@walidras: You mean "console exclusives" from third party studios that have a deal with Sony. These titles would have been multiplat anyway. First party titles will never come to PC, and some second/third party neither.

@walidras: a few to name? Those are the only two I can think of and I'm pretty sure they used the term "console exclusive" which is different from regular exclusivity. I didn't think an A-hole elitist would know the difference anyway.

Good decision, now way more people will be able to play this game. Just don't shackle it to your own store, that'll be mistake, but better than shackling it to your console I guess, at least it will be playable on PC.

Sadly, Recore is not on the games using DX12 list. I would think that all games that are "Windows 10" will automatically be DX12 moving forward. At least games released in 2016 should already have it implemented.

I thought I recall Phil Spencer or someone on the Xbox team mentioning that PC/Xbox One cross platform titles will not require you purchase a copy on each platform to play it on both your PC and Xbox. Perhaps this will be a title that allows you to buy one copy to play on your account no matter the device you own. The purchase counts and games transfer across devices as you play.

Good news. We will get to play the game properly without it being limited by weak console hardware.

Any chance to not have to buy a game on a console is a huge win.
