Xbox One Exclusive Sunset Overdrive Finally Confirmed For PC
Will you play Sunset Overdrive on PC?
Insomniac's Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive has long been rumored to be coming to PC, and now the developer has finally confirmed that's the case. In fact, the colorful open-world game is out on PC today.
The news was confirmed in a new trailer, which you can watch below. The game is coming to both the Windows Store and Steam, though its listings aren't yet live and so details like pricing and graphics options are as yet unknown.
Sunset Overdrive coming to PC isn't a huge surprise, since details of a port popped up in the ESRB database a few days ago. In September 2014, just a month before Sunset Overdrive launched for Xbox One, Insomniac said it had no plans to bring the game to PC, but teased that it hadn't ruled it out, either. Two years later, Insomniac said it wanted to bring Sunset Overdrive to PC, but noted that it was publisher Microsoft's decision to make.
Insomniac has said it would like to make Sunset Overdrive 2, but as of October 2017, the studio had not found a partner for it. Since then, the studio has developed the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man.
We awarded the Xbox One version of Sunset Overdrive an 8/10 when it launched in 2014. "It's one of the best games on the Xbox One," wrote critic Peter Brown in our Sunset Overdrive review at the time.
