The Xbox One February update that adds the ability to see and manage your storage space and brings back the controller battery power indicator has started to roll out, according to Major Nelson's blog.

If you're using the Xbox One's "Instant On" feature, the console will check for updates next time you turn it off and begin downloading the update at off-peak hours in your local time.

The improvements to storage space management will make it easier to see how much space your content takes up, and allow you to control your install lineup and download queue. "Games" and "My Apps" have also been broken up into separate lists so you can create separate queues for both.

The battery power indicator is back as well, and will now appear on the home screen in the lower right, next to the clock.

The last major addition in this update is USB Keyboard support.

Some other notes about what's new in the Xbox One February update:

  • Ability to delete game and application save data
  • Improved installation and DLC management
  • Improved UI for accessing friends, achievements, messages, and party chat
  • Game DVR app to be included in the Xbox OneGuide as an app channel
  • Update to the boot progress indicators for system update
  • Improve consistency of UX for update & install progress
  • Separate game, application, and install queue lists
  • Addition of USB keyboard support
  • Improved NAT detection
  • Network Troubleshooter improvements
  • Blu-ray quality improvements
  • Significant performance and stability improvements

i wish micro$oft were a bit more transparent when they were selling a long from finished console and i wish they told us we were signing up to be beta testers for about 2 years! seriously 4 months to add keyboard and battery indicator, and these people get paid money to do their jobs, wow, i wish i never bothered with "next gen" its still 2 years away, and this is how they treat us for supporting the new console. Thanks alot, thanks very much. Cant wait for this to get better, typical Micro$oft, keeping everyone living in hope of how good things are "going to get" scammers!!!

Things I took for granted on the X360 and PS3. Glad to see them finally show up.

Glad for the download/install in the background in the dead of night. Could have used this last gen.

Where at exactly is the battery power indicator? Which section do we manage storage space from? I am all for these updates but please include directions on where to find these new improvements.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I for one can't stand electronics with built in rechargeable batteries. Over time they hold a charge less and less and at one point or another you will have to use them while they are wired in and charging.... which you know.. kind of defeats the purpose of them being wireless. Get two sets of rechargeable batteries for your Xbox controller and switch them out once one pair runs out. Viola! A wireless controller that is always wireless... imagine that. I just wish my a50s had batteries I could switch out. It's even more annoying when it's headphones.

<< LINK REMOVED >> If any nut is still using plain AA batteries he deserves to lose his money. When it comes to controllers, rechargeable AA's or fork over the $20 for a Xbox charge battery. People give shit about this but no one talks about when that PS3 controller fails to hold a charge for long and you have to resort to playing wired all the time. That's the biggest fail

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> did you mean to say PS4 controller? because while it does lose its charge faster than the PS3 controller its by no means as bad as your saying. If you didn't make a typo you're straight up wrong. The PS3 controller lasted for days.
