Xbox One Forza Horizon 2 Gets First DLC Today

Microsoft today launched the first DLC expansion for its racing game, Forza Horizon 2, which was released last week across Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Available today for the Xbox One version of the game is the Mobil 1 Car Pack, which features six new cars (full list and images below).

The Mobil 1 Car Pack is included with the Forza Horizon 2 Car Pass ($25) or can be purchased by itself for $5. Once you buy the expansion, the cars are yours to race and customize right away, Microsoft says in a post on the Xbox Wire.

Forza Horizon 2 car pack expansions will normally feature five new cars, but today's Mobil 1 Car Pack includes a bonus vehicle--the 1988 BMW M5--at no extra cost. Microsoft did not say when the Mobil 1 Car Pack will be released for Xbox 360.

The Mobil 1 Car Pack includes:

2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
2013 Renault Clio RS 200
1988 Volkswagen Scirocco 16v
1957 Maserati 300 S
1977 BMW M5

Paid dlc all ready, this is why I don't like m$ in gaming. It's all about the dollar with them! Why they produce the x1 to be a multimedia box n not 100% gaming machine. So they can get their fingers into paid tv subs.

I see a few people having problems with the dlc. If u purchased doc, u will get a thank message from the publisher. Accept that message then get to the store. The dlc cars will cost u 0 cr. just select it and it will ask if u want this car free and whalla the dlc cars are in ur garage.

So 6 hours later from when I first bought the DLC, it gets added to the game in an update. Now I know I have to wait 6 hours after every DLC for it to actually be in the game. Because why buy DLC and expect it to be in the game after it downloads? That's so 2013.

I haven't had any bugs, been there playing since launch, and currently have more cars in my garage, than driveclub has in the whole game, and loving every min of it.

Already DLC? And more cars at that? As if these cars weren't already made before the game was released. I can't stand when company's pull this crap. It's not like people just paid $60 for your damn game or anything... But people keep buying it so they'll keep doing it.

Add something different, like a Gumball mode where you can just cruise with dozens of other cars, stop at some gas stations, have a few fights, get some ho's, drive to the VD clinic...

No thanks, Horizon 2 is very repetitive & really tiny, the game has nothing to offer me other than a not completely boring way to some pass time, I'm not inclined to buy DLC.

Such a shame Ubisoft is making a disaster of The Crew, that game had serious potential.

@k9kal85 @Blank2k2 I have & Infact after I type this message I'll be playing it again.... but purely because I paid £45 for the thing and I'll be damned if I'm not getting to this finale then finishing the co-op things (which are actually pretty enjoyable) with my friends.

I am looking forward to a decent racing game.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I'm glad I started waiting for GoTY edition ect, on games(only exception is GTAV and soon SSBU) because buying games and getting disappointing mess or having to chase down all the DLC released over the next year gets annoying... Unfortunately I just don't see myself ever buying the XB1 after the debacle before release I have zero trust in MS now. Not that it was high to begin with, they just confirmed my opinion about them to be fact rather than opinion.

Only thing I'm a bit disappointed in here is that they are charging for sponsored DLC, I doubt that DLC is cheaper just because Mobil 1 payed to put their name on it...

I feel like they nickel and dime us in the accessory department, and the Wii U should have come bundled with a Pro controller, probably would have sold more.

Just skip the DLC if you want the game. Devs/Publishers will stop withholding content if people don't buy it.

Alien Isolation has DLC slated 3 weeks post launch; so DLC right after launch is increasing.

I think of the original game as the starter and the DLC as a booster pack. This works really well when I have already played thru the original story and now I want to have a new adventure. Sometimes the DLC wouldn't make sense as part of the original story.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Honestly good DLC saves you money because you play the same game for a longer time and DLC should be cheaper than the initial game(example Mario Kart gets a 50% increase in content for $12). The problem is that publishers have learned they can release pay for DLC the week of or a few weeks after release and the consumer accepts it and encourages more publishers to join in on the practice... There's nothing wrong with returning some content that was cut late free of charge to the customer and then having your pay for DLC later(I think R* done this with a few of their games)... Instead in some cases we have publishers removing/withholding finished content in order to sell it back to you piece by piece(Destiny?)...

It's not about money for me either, it's the principal of the matter. Why on earth would I want to pay $10 for 3 maps(titanfall)? $5 for this sponsored DLC, it should be a freebie because the content is so little. I really hate this whole "you must be poor, so you cannot afford" argument what about trying to be a smarter consumer? This is clearly the best racing game out right now, but if it's not an expansion, it doesn't warrant the cost of extra money imo. That's why no one develops for the PC anymore because A) they don't like modding because it cuts in to their DLC plans B) they can't get away with charging for 3 map mappacks or weapon skins, C) communities aren't segregated and they can't double/triple dip in to markets, because there's only one universal market across three OS platforms(windows, mac, linux the red headed step child). It's just sad that they're initiating out dated business principals in to an industry that was about earning your keep. Now they want to pass on the monetary burdens towards consumers and that is not how it works.

Lastly DLC does not save you money because what you spend on one game, and one experience you could have honestly just spent on multiple experiences. I'm sorry but DLC packs these days are not expansions but they're priced as such and offer little extended gameplay.
