Xbox One free game promotion news coming soon
Microsoft Studios executive Phil Spencer says gamers should expect news about Games with Gold on Xbox One "fairly soon."

News about the Xbox One's Games with Gold promotion is coming soon.
Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked when the promotion would be available, Microsoft Studios executive Phil Spencer said, "Answer to this will be coming fairly soon."
It's not clear what "fairly soon" means, but the announcement isn't likely to come this week, Spencer said. Of note, Spencer attended the Super Bowl last night.
The Games with Gold promotion is currently available on Xbox 360. Through the program, Xbox Live Gold members ($60/year) get two free games per month to keep, even if their Gold subscription lapses. This month's free titles are Dead Island (Feb. 1-15) and Toy Soldiers: Cold War (Feb. 16-28).
Microsoft announced in November that Games with Gold would be extended to Xbox One, but has yet to reveal any specifics about the promotion.
