The new console update will introduce various bug fixes across the system, particularly with the Edge browser. Larry Hryb, Xbox's longstanding communications executive, revealed on Twitter that the latest firmware update will not introduce any new system features.

At the time of going to press, it is not clear how big the update will be. According to those who previewed the beta build earlier in December, it weighed around 360MB.

The latest key application added to Xbox One is the Sky Go player in the UK, which gives users the chance to watch Sky TV through their console in another room or home.
