Xbox Series X: Is This The Bootup Screen And Sound?
Here's what might greet you whenever you start up your Xbox Series X.
Microsoft is preparing to show off gameplay demonstrations of Xbox Series X games, including the newly revealed Assassin's Creed Valhalla, later this week. As part of a teaser for the Inside Xbox episode taking place tomorrow on May 7, the company showed a short video that could be teasing the startup or boot sequence for the Xbox Series X. It's the first of many teases Microsoft will be making over the next few months as we approach the console's official release, and more news is just one day away.
The video is just over 15 seconds and features a unique animation and sound cue that we haven't seen before. The logo attached simply says "Xbox," which aligns with Microsoft's recent suggestions that starting with Series X its branding will be much simpler.
The closed captioning says "New Xbox Sound" and the video description invites you to "Boot up a new episode of Inside Xbox." All of that suggests this could be the startup sound for the next-generation console.
The Inside Xbox episode will start on Thursday, May 7 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. Microsoft teased that it's a first look at gameplay from partners on Xbox Series X, suggesting this will primarily or completely focus on third-party games. Microsoft also announced that it will be hosting monthly streams called Xbox 20/20 throughout the rest of the year. July's 20/20 event will focus on first-party Xbox Series X games.
