Western Digital's 1TB Xbox Expansion Card is on sale for its lowest price since Black Friday. For a limited time, you can snag the WD Black C50 for only $110, which is $40 off its $150 list price. The timing of this promotion is pretty great, as Xbox has added several AAA titles with very large file sizes to Game Pass over the past few months, including the newly released Avowed, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Installing all three of those eats up nearly 300GB of internal storage. And in just a few short months, Xbox users will need to make room for Doom: The Dark Ages, which is sure to take up considerable storage space. You can run out of space on your internal drive in a hurry, especially if you are a Game Pass subscriber.

The Xbox Series X 1TB console has 802GB of usable space, so this model of the C50 will more than double your storage for games. The WD Black 1TB C50 has nearly three times as much usable space as the launch model Series S (364GB).

Walmart has the same deal as Amazon, though your order will be shipped directly from SanDisk instead of Walmart's warehouse. If both retailers sell out, Best Buy has the 1TB C50 discounted to $116.

Western Digital also makes 512GB ($80) and 2TB ($250) models. The 2TB C50 Expansion Card is $50 off at the moment, dropping Amazon's price from $250 to $200. The 512GB model is going for its regular $80 list price.

The C50 launched in 2023 to compete with Seagate's Expansion Card, the only other officially licensed storage expansion option for Xbox Series X|S. Seagate's Expansion Cards used to be incredibly expensive, but the arrival of the C50 led to price drops. Amazon has the 1TB Seagate Expansion Card for $118 (was $150) right now.

It is worth noting, however, that the 2TB Seagate Expansion Card is $248 at Amazon, so you'll definitely want to opt for the C50 if you want the larger capacity card.

Western Digital and Seagate Xbox Expansion Cards offer the same functionality. You simply insert the proprietary storage card into the expansion slot on the back of your console. Your Xbox will recognize the card and allow you to choose if you want to use internal storage or expansion storage as your primary install location.
