Kazuma Kiryu and friends clean up real nice in the new images.
Sega has released new screenshots for its Yakuza remake which, as the name suggests, updates the first game in the series for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The screenshots feature a number of familiar faces, including protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and delightful maniac Goro Majima, among others.

The Yakuza series follows Kazuma Kiryu, who is released from prison and goes in search of a childhood friend. Over the course of the series, however, he rises through the ranks of the Yakuza, coming into conflict with rival factions of the crime family. The latest numbered entry in the series, Yakuza 5, will be released digitally world-wide in Fall this year via the PlayStation Network.
Sega has confirmed this project involves completely remaking the original Yakuza on an engine used in more recent games. The project was announced during Tokyo Game Show 2015, alongside Yakuza 6, which is set for release exclusively for the PlayStation 4
Yakuza Kiwami, which is the official title for the re-release in Japan, will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on January 21 in Japan. Yakuza 6, meanwhile, will launch in Autumn 2016 for Japan. Plans for release in the West have not yet been announced.
