The game is coming out in April.
Developer Playtonic has wrapped up the initial development on Yooka-Laylee, meaning the game has "gone gold." The game was funded on Kickstarter. Not every project from Kickstarter comes out on time, or at all, but Yooka-Laylee is coming out in April, 21 months after the campaign began.
"We couldn't have reached this moment without the incredible support of our backers, fans, family, and friends across the games industry," Playtonic said in a statement. "Thanks again for your unwavering enthusiasm for our studio."

Regarding the Switch version, Playtonic said it continues to "work closely" with Nintendo on it. More details will be announced later. "We'd like to thank our many Nintendo fans for their continued patience and understanding while we form our plans," Playtonic said. "we hope to make your platform of choice a great place to experience Yooka-Laylee in the future!"
