[UPDATE] Voting has begun. From your PS4, head to "Vote to Play" under the PlayStation Plus section to place your vote. Descriptions of the three games are available below.

Much as it did last year, Sony is again presenting PlayStation Plus members with the opportunity to vote for an upcoming free Plus game.

Starting later this month, Plus members can choose between three PS4 games--Broforce, Assault Android Cactus, and Action Henk--that they want to see offered as part of March's Plus game lineup. Broforce is a sidescrolling shooter, Assault Android Cactus is a twin-stick shooter, and Action Henk is a sort of sidescrolling racing game.

Voting will begin on February 9. You can throw your support behind a game by accessing the Vote to Play hub on PS4, which you can find in several places: the dedicated PlayStation Plus section of the system, the PlayStation Store, and the What's New area.

The last time Sony did this was in August 2015, when Plus members got to choose between Zombie Vikings, Armello, and Grow Home, the latter of which ended up being selected. The two losers were then discounted alongside the release of the free Plus games for the month; Sony hasn't said if it'll be doing the same this time around.

February's free Plus games will be available starting tomorrow, February 2. You have until then to claim January's freebies.

I just wonder, why do I pay PSplus...I own the game but cant play multiplayer. Sıny repay us with that cheap games. Thats why multiplayer needs psplus, if multiplayer does not need psplus no one would take psplus for that montly games...

@GabrielX-X: Rocket league last year was worth my $40 subscription, and hell divers has paid for at least half of it this year. Plenty of games I'd never buy is why I like the service. Plus the discounts are actually pretty decent.

@joshrmeyer: Bingo. Rocket League and Helldivers justified my expense. Hell, all the games I get as a part of PS+ justify my subscription. I don't always LIKE them, or even keep them. But getting a shot at twelve FULL games, with no strings attached as part of a subscription service that is fairly well priced...I can take that for the value it is. Do I need multiplayer to be a part of that? No. But if I had a choice between multiplayer or the games I get as part of the PS+ subscription, I'd pick the games.

I've heard Broforce and Action Henk were absolutely great titles. Excited for the vote. I'm expecting Broforce to win but I kinda hope Action Henk does. A lot of people say "No AAA? Sony's garbage." but those people are just missing out. I like to play games that are great that I probably wouldn't play at first glance. Action Henk and Broforce are both loved games by the people who play it. Why be mad when you've got a cool new game to play? Certainly beats some hot AAA garbage they COULD be giving us. Remember: PS3 didn't start offering AAA titles until well into it's life cycle.

@7tizz: If these games had been out on PS4 for a while, you'd have a point. But...how is a company supposed to make money, by giving away it's game that's appearing on the platform for the first time, for free? Sony picks up the tab for sales of the ONE game that's free and helps get the other two exposure and a bit of jingle with the discount, but the other two still need to pay their bills. And all THREE, go back to full price a month later.

Again though, how does ANY of this, speak to Sony "alienating" it's player base?

@7tizz: And repeating your answer, still doesn't answer the question. Show me someone who's doing better in this kind of offer? Give me an example of anyone else, who allows it's customers by majority vote, to CHOOSE among a selected list of games they will get free as part of a subscription service. Or, just explain how giving one game free, and discounting two others, is alienating a fanbase.

@7tizz: It's a VOTE, not a free PICK of a game. if you go into a vote believing your choice should win because YOU voted for it, you're gonna be really disappointed throughout the course of life. Last time, I voted for Armello over Grow Home, even though I knew Grow Home would win. I voted how I felt, and didn't complain that the game I wanted didn't win. I just bought it, and played BOTH. Am I angry that I had to pay for Armello? No. I got it at a discount, and enjoyed it a lot more than Grow Home.

@7tizz: Maybe he wants to play it on his TV instead of a monitor? Or prefers the couch to a desk chair?

I have the mac version.. and Steams "Big Picture" mode doesn't work that great for me. I also want to play co-op with my nephew.. and I have two PS4 controllers... but only one wired xbox controller (mac). Plus my friends have a PS4, so if it has online Co-op (i think it does) I can play with them. Some people just prefer to play this type of game on the couch... i know i do.

So I'll be voting for Broforce... it rocks. I have no interest in the other games anyway.

It would be better to just let us pick and download one of the three.. then everyone would be happy. I still can't believe "Grow Home" won last time. I thought it sucked.. but different strokes for different folks i guess.
