This is part of Bethesda's "Million Reasons to Play" campaign, which began in October on social media when the developer asked fans to share their favorite parts of the game. This new sweepstakes gives that name a whole new meaning.
"It's so inspiring to see fans share--with us and the community--their favorite reasons for playing," game director Matt Firor said. "We're excited to now share something with one of them!"
You can enter the sweepstakes by visiting this page and completing the entry form by January 10. Then, all you have to do is log into The Elder Scrolls Online and play during the promo period (December 3, 2015-January 10, 2016) for a shot at increasing your bank account dramatically. The winner will be chosen at random on Monday, February 1, 2016.
On top of the $1 million grand prize that one person gets, Bethesda will hand out 3,000 Crowns (The Elder Scrolls Online's in-game currency) to 1,000 second prize winners. These winners will also be chosen on February 1. Full contest rules are available here.
The Elder Scrolls Online launched for PC in April 2014. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions arrived a year later in June 2015. Two expansion packs have been released to date: The Imperial City and Orsinium.
