YouTuber Spent $70,000 On The World's Largest Functional PS5
It's 10 feet tall.
YouTuber ZHC spent $70,000 to make the world's largest functional PS5. According to ZHC, his gigantic PS5 is 100 times larger than the normal sized PS5. To be more precise, it's 10 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds. The supersized PS5 came with a larger-than-life functional controller as well.
In a video titled I Spent 100 Hours Customizing The World's Largest PS5 ($70,000), ZHC held a competition between him and his team members. He painted one side of the PS5 and his team painted the other. If his team won, ZHC would give them each a PS5 and a number of other PS5 consoles to charity. If he lost, ZHC also vowed to give away the world's largest functioning PS5.
Spoiler alert: ZHC won but promised to still give away a hundred PS5s to his subscribers.
ZHC's PS5 customization and giveaway video is in line with his past videos, which is the "big numbers and big giveaways'' genre of YouTube videos. In the past, he's given customized iPhones to kids and surprised various internet celebrities with customized gifts.
For the average consumer, getting a PS5 is still difficult. In an earnings report, Sony responded to stock shortages and acknowledged that it hasn't been able to keep up with the demand. Sony promised to "do everything in our power" to make more units.
