Hailed as the worst in the series, Brotherhood is definitely up-to-par and deserves more credit than it has received.

The first two installments in the series set the bar pretty high and inevitably resulted in scrutiny over this addition, limiting its right to succeed. Albeit, Assassin's Creed II was easily the best in the series, Brotherhood definitely deserves more credit than merely being seen as a stepping stone between installments. The game offers much more in regards to countless things to do, and a surprisingly long and enthralling jaunt into a beautiful and vibrant world. I will admit, the story is not as compelling, but when rolling through the credits you get one little hint which sets the stage for an incredible follow-up. Anyone who enjoyed the first two games should surely pick this one up and be ready for a long, and enjoying experience. Despite its short-comings, Brotherhood paves the way for what could be the best game yet, and possibly an awesome finale worth waiting for. However, you probably won't want to do every quest due to a lack of rewards, but don't let that shy you away from an experience nearly as good as the last. All-in-all, not the best in the series, but it isn't necessarily that far off.
