There is such a thing as perfection and it is Assassin's Creed II

User Rating: 10 | Assassin's Creed II X360
Assassin's Creed II is a far superior sequel to Assassin's Creed I in every way shape and form. The game takes just hours after the events of Assassin's Creed I. Desmond is bailed out of Abstergo by assassin's, who want to train him to become one of them and help them fight in the war. To speed up the process of making Desmond a master assassin, they throw him once again into the Animus to live the life of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, an assassin who lived during the Italian Renaissance. After the execution of his father and two brothers, Ezio becomes an assassin to not only exact vengeance on those who wronged his family, but to find out why they were executed and to put the Templar's plan to a hold. The story is a lot better than the story in the first game. You only play as Desmond two or three times throughout the game, allowing Ezio's story to flow better. The game covers over 30 years of Ezio's life, from his time as an 17 year old novice to a 40 year old master assassin. So you see Ezio fully evolve as a character, which is extremely fascinating to see.

The graphics in this game are just absolutely stunning. The cities of Florence, Venice, Forli and Tuscany come alive in the game and It is gorgeous. The character models look really great also. Even the civilians have great detail in the game.

The controls in the game are near identical to the first game, with some added features. Because you can use more weapons in the game, you press right bumper and it will give you access to all your weapons, but other than that, the controls are essentially the same.

The gameplay has been upgraded from the last game tremendously. The repetitive 4 mission mode structure of the first game has been completely tossed out the window. There are more diverse mission types this time around like escorting, following, stealth and many other types of missions. The viewpoints are still there from the first game, but that's the only mission type that made it from the first game to the second game. Combat is also a lot more fast paced due to Ezio's speed. There is also more types of enemies to fight, like Brutes and Seekers. Since money is introduced in the game, you can buy medicine to heal yourself, buy weapons, repair armor or hire courtesans, mercenaries or thieves to help make your life a lot easier against the guards of the game, not really that you'll need them towards the end.

Overall, As a game, it is a master piece that surpasses the first game in every way.
