Although a great game, what comes with it made it possibly a game many would want to avoid...
Assassin's Creed II is the latest in the Ubisoft's Sci-fi/ Religious Action Adventure Series. Now, while I haven't had a chance to review the console versions, I shall reflect on the game in this review as well.
As the comparison of the game's versions are only the controls, graphics and performance, the gameplay can be reflected EXACTLY the same as the console versions. The gameplay is what you'd expect. You run in a free sandbox type world where you can traverse ANYWAY you want. You can do it the common way... meh... Climb roofs and traverse by jumping from roof to roof... meh... or swim in the pier... wha..? Yes the gameplay has been extended by including Swimming in the game, which begs the question: Why are Arabian assassins not capable of swimming? Also they include a shop interface as well, with the inclusion of money and you can buy stuff like armor, healing services of a doctor and fix your currently equipped armour.
The story parts of the game are presented greatly by using cinematic cut scenes and the voice acting and characters are all likable, especially Ezio, who became my favourite character stepping over Nathan Drake last year.
The game's graphics is good, but that is dependant on your PC, in its maximum possible setting, IT IS IMMERSIVE, surpassing even both PS3 and XBox 360. But lower it and you might get an average picture in front of you and the experience not as grand.
Now all I've said about the game is good but what makes it hard for me to recommend this game? Its the new DRM method by Ubisoft. It is BOLLOCKS!!!!
Why? Well you can already judge from the universal judgment of players, that they hate it. The way the system works is that you must connect to the internet to play the game.
"Not so bad" you might think. "Just Like EA's one"
NO, IT IS THAT BAD.
You have to connect to the internet THE WHOLE TIME you are playing the game. Imagine you are playing the game and you are having a good time and you are in the part where the story is unfolding its details, and then the internet disconnects just because your brother pulled the phone wire or downloads something. When that happens, THE GAME SHUT DOWNS ON YOU!!!! NOT ONLY THAT, YOU LOSE YOUR PROGRESS!!!
Once again, Ubisoft has taken of what respect I had for the company and shoved it up all the PC gamers in the whole WORLD!!!!
This game is best left on the shelf of game stores, so you will discourage the sale of the game and tell Ubisoft to use their brains!!!!
You are NOT welcome to pick this up.
-Readial, annoyed. >:(
