Normally when a sequel is made you expect there to be some improvements on the original. The original had a lot of things to improve on so this version had a lot to work with. It worked on a lot of things but there still leaves a lot to be improved. You essentially play the same character in the middle ages. The first thing you will notice is that the graphics are a little better and the combat is a little better also. They allow you to buy more weapons and upgrade which is also an improvement. The people in the city actually look like they are doing things and there is hustle and bustle about. The game basically adds to the same missions set by putting different types of missions in the game. Some you just have to beat up a guy not kill him and some you have to kill without being detected. You travel to different cities and do different things. The game play is actually not so bad. The music is pretty much the same. They also add money into the game. Before money was a part of the game but not as important as it is now. You have to build up your town so you do missions to gain money to build it up. You can also go on a treasure hunt to find treasures as well. As you build up your town you get to collect taxes for more money. It gives the game an interesting twist which they should have expanded on.
Now on to the bad I tell you.. After awhile of collecting money you buy everything and thats it. There is really not much you can do with the money but just build it up. So after awhile treasure hunting is useless unless you are a completest. I have to say for a game who relies a lot of game precision this games is pretty poor. There are times when you can face a direction and the character jumps in a totally different direction. You can press a button at time 4x before the character does what you want it to do. The game is also very annoying when it comes to that. You are chasing someone running and it makes you climb up a wall for no reason at all. After awhile it can become frustrating especially when you have to do precision jumping. The problem with the 1st game has not really been solved in this game. The game after awhile become repetitive doing the same things over and over again. The assassinates are the same things over and over again. That is a problem that they are going to have to try to overcome for the new game.
I must say it is cool climbing up the building and doing a stealth assassinate. In that area they have improved the game as well in new weapons. The weapons improvements are better and the armor and such. They cute out the whole finding the flag thing but they added finding feathers and statues which is not so bad. Overall this is a much improved version over the original but not by much. Its leaves the door open for a much better game in the future. Its definitely worth a buy at $20 or less.
