Well executed, advances the series, not perfect, but damn good.
User Rating: 9.5 | Assassin's Creed II PS3
This game is 1 1/2 years old and I doubt many need an in depth review so I'll be short and sweet. This is a great game. The graphics are great, its essentially open world. Lots to do, lots of collectables, lots of optional things, some of the every day missions (contracts, races, etc) dont seem to serve much purpose, but the storyline is good, the cities are impressively mapped (especially venice, which if anything is under used (which is saying something since you will spend a chunk of time there)) I just beat it this morning and am mopping up a few trophies since I legit think I can platinum this one. Also, I am contemplating the DLC now since I enjoyed it that much. Combat is fun, but could be better, the free running is fantastic, not as good as that of iNFAMOUS (where you can climb everything) but fluid and fitting. Color is a little washed out compared to what I've seen of the 360 version. My cousin beat it on 360 and watching me play he thought the graphics looked cleaner, but agreed the color was a bit washed out. I wont go too much into story, but its a pretty interesting story, particularly if you read all the comments on the buildings and unlock "The Truth." I wouldnt give it a 9.5, but a 9.2 or 9.3, but the rating system wont let me rate it at that, and it deserves more than a 9.0. I have AC: Brotherhood in my goozex queue and I'll be watching that game because I am pretty stoked for it (and Revelations too now). Good job, definitely a AAA Franchise that is deserving. I know a few sites had AC2 running neck and neck with Uncharted 2 (gamespot picked demons souls...which i dont know about GOTY but it is also a AAA title) its a good game, not as good as UC2, but thats still my favorite game of this generation so I am a little biased. If you have any questions shoot a message, this has turned into more a reaction piece than a review.
