Even if it's not a ''new'' formula for the Assassin's Creed series, as many of us out there expected it to be, it's a solid game, an instant classic that gets you in the game and keeps you there. But, at the end of the day, you will realise you were actually playing the same Assassin's Creed you played last year, or several years ago, but in a totally new dimension! I am not taking here a course about the game's visuals (they look fine and the animations play just fine), about the sound (which is decent) or about the story line (which is, some-how, reproduced in the old titles), but about the game itself and what the series stand for.
In the end, it's a game worth spending time for, but not that much!
p.s. I didn't play the MP section because AC is more SP biased, so I will see it that way!
