If this game was the last in the series then it should have been huge, innovative and more illustrative but it is not!
The story feels that it has been narrowed down but does not feel that it is clearly explained or complete. It highlights what really happened in Altair's life and in the life of the superstar of this series Ezio Auditore. It clears some major points but it still makes the future aspect of Desmond incomplete.
The understanding of the entire concept of Assassins Creed series will require a great understanding and some research(They should manage to clear this at some point).
The gameplay is good and decent. It follows same mechanics of the previous games but the new hook blade feature which allows to slide through ropes adds some fun. The recruitment and training the new assassins recruit has been improvised over the brotherhood series. Once they level up to good levels they have their equivalent effect in the gameplay when you call them for help in the game. The best is to train them to Master Assassin level so that you have flawless help in your primary mission when you call them for help but for this you need to wait as the primary missions are too short you need to take a break from them to do this otherwise it won't happen at all. Also Master Assassin help in avoiding the stupid and annoying den defense scenario(Play and see) where it needs to be defended against templars who try to retake it. The gameplay in other aspect is similar to its predecessors.
The main missions are full of fun and thrill and as usual you can use various approach to finish them. But they are to very less so plan your gameplay accordingly. You can also do side missions (do treasure hunt, send assassins to various missions,do thieves or mercenary guild quests, etc.) and earn money which can be used to purchase property or buy new weapons, armor and upgrades.
The map is very small(only one city) to explore new things so it is quite disappointing. So there is no horse riding or towers to explore between cities or any village or ruins or landmark to explore between the cities and no vast place to travel. So the exploration part is very less and the environment looks all the same and small.
In previous games in this series there were many places(cities, landmarks, villages, towers, ruins) to visit and explore and so it gave a real feel of the environment. And every location was unique in its own aspect.
The graphics are quite descent and good. The soundtrack is just excellent. The sound effects and music for each particular game scenario is also amazing.
If this game was the last in the series then it they should have made it really huge, innovative and more illustrative. So this point makes me doubt that there could be one more game in this series that can be launched in future but you cannot tell what they are upto?....whether they will or will not develop this one's successor?but it still leaves many aspects unclear.
But it and play it, it won't disappoint!!
