Time for Assassin's Creed 3.....

User Rating: 8.5 | Assassin's Creed: Revelations PC
Assassin's Creed till date is the best looking game if not the best in series. It had a good start but several things needed to be fixed (Repetition). Most of the things were fixed in Assassin's Creed 2 which has made it an instant classic in the history of games.

Following the 2nd games, two spin offs followed - Brotherhood and Revelations.

While i didn't like both the games as much as 2, i can definitely say revelations is better than Brotherhood.

Brotherhood did not have the immersive factor. Probably because it felt like an Extension or expansion pack for AC 2. Also the fact that it wasn't the best port on the PC (frame stutters, Water image layer on top whilst running the game on AMD Radeon).

Revelations on the other hand takes places several years after Brotherhood and also gives a visit to Altair from the first game. Unlike in ACB where you just get a sniff of Altair, u have good 3-4 full fledged levels playing as Altair. You get to play as both Altair and Ezio. Ezio is more older and more mature and occupies more of the gameplay content. Also the game is the smoother of the two games (AC2 and ACB) and does not have any issues as such when running on the PC.

Graphics is same as ACB except for some tweaks. Gameplay is improved a bit. Its more smoother. Gliding on ropes, using the hook blade to jump further, manufacturing your own bombs etc. are some of the pleasant additions to the games.

You have assassin's guild similar to ACB. Its slightly more challenging now. You have dens like in ACB, but you also have to defend it with a tedious Tower defense gameplay. The concept is good but could have been implemented better. Instead of a fixed camera, could have had the usual gameplay with options of summoning soldiers as and when you want. But with the tower defense, the sense of control is gone.

The story as always is good, voice acting is also very good. Desmond's gameplay was good and gave some insights about his childhood etc.

Though the name of the game is revelations there is as such no great revelation. Whatever revelation is there is quite predictable and already known to gamers atleast since Brotherhood. This game is more of an insight about Altair and Ezio's adventures almost during their entire lifespan.

Concluding, this is not the best in series. It is slightly better than brotherhood due to the points i mentioned above. If you have played ACB you will like this also. It isn't an absolute must though before AC 3 as i said the revelation is quite known.

Assassin's creed is losing its milk...franchises are getting milked these days once they are a big hit. Revelations is definitely the last drop of milk in the AC2 series, atleast i hope. If they do one more the sweet will become sour. Atleast as per the game there shouldn't be one more and the franchise will be concluded by Assassin's Creed 3.

AC3 should use the graphics engine from the first (AC still looks brilliant till date) and the gameplay mechanics from the 2nd but with a lot of variety and more open world game (Its getting smaller and smaller since 2). Will AC3 be a brilliant game or just a rehash?, Only time will tell.
