Assault Heroes is one of those terribly simplistic games that grows on you with every passing moment of play. Did you like Gunstar Heroes? How about the NES Jackal? Or Smash T.V.? Assault Heroes has a little bit of all of them going on. It's an excellent homage that's easily worth the 10 dollar price of admission. If you remember the good ole days of smoke-filled arcades, you'll recall that quarters had three purposes in life... laundry, pay phones, and Street Fighter II. In other words, if you're pushing 30 like me, it's safe to say that you'll feel right at home with this Live Arcade rarity. I say rarity because it feels classic AND it manages to hold up to today's standards.
