Asteroids on the 2600 is an extremely faithful and addicting port of the arcade classic.
Ah, Asteroids on the 2600. It may not seem much (like all other 2600 games), but like most of those games, it's extremely stimulating. Basically, you need to shoot and destroy all the asteroids coming towards you before they kill you. This may seem like a whole lot of nothing, but Asteroids manages to get by it by having fun game-play and nostalgic sound effects. I love the shooting sound, it's awesome!
As graphics come, the asteroids look pretty colorful, your ship looks pretty good too. The best part of this game, however, is not only the game-play, but the sound. Asteroids make great sound effects, as well as you dying. There's only a few audio effects in the entire game, but you'll be to addicted to even care. The controls in this game are top notch, and you'll never feel frustrated trying to shoot those asteroids
Asteroids is challenging as hell, satisfying as Mario, and actually looks just as good as the original did (which really isn't much). Do you really want more game-play that isn't simple? Screw you, go find the Nes reviews. (I don't mean screw you, just kidding). The Atari's simple game-play is addicting, and this is no exception. Asteroids on the 2600 is an extremely faithful and addicting port of the arcade classic, and any Atari 2600 fan should play this game, no matter how old you are.
