Atari Anthology (PS2) is all about memories and nostalgia-a trip down memory lane for us old-school players.
So, it was and with a tear in my eye I played games like Combat (my first Atari 2600 game) and was just blown away by the amount of years that have gone by since I last played this game.
80 games is what you get and how is that for a deal! I remember alot of these games and would like to offer some of my memories on some of them. They are:
Adventure: Fun game. The dragon does look like a duck too.
Air-Sea Battle
Asteroids: I can still hear the "duh duh duh duh" in my head to this day. Great fun!
Black Widow
Breakout: Another game I am fond of because it was one of the first games I played as well.
Casino: Same for this one. I was only 4 or 5 so I didn't get too much enjoyment from this one.
Centipede
Combat: My first Atari 2600 game.
Crystal Castles: I was introduced to this one in the 80s in a bowling alley in Okinawa, Japan. I was HOOKED and made sure I played this one every visit.
Haunted House: A creepy and scary game. You play as wandering eyes and who could forget the bat, ghost, and tarantula. You'd hear the wind pick up if any of these things got close to you. Look for the pieces of the earn to get out alive!
Milipede
Missle Command: Hours and hours on this one. The game really was intense for it's time and had me moving all over the screen.
Night Driver
Outlaw
Pong: CLASSIC-nuff said
Tempest: The first time I saw this game in the arcades I couldn't really grasp it as far as what I was seeing. It was just too cool for words.
Warlords: Again, another game in my early collection. I LOVED breaking down the opponents wall to get to the center of the stronghold. Game over!
Yar's Revenge: A friend was playing this at his house and I was thinking how cool this game was and how I would love to play it for hours and hours and hours.
FINAL VERDICT: a classic disc and for 80 games you can't beat the price. I am glad Digital Eclipse came out with this as it really was a nice trip down memory lane. If you remember the good ole days or are a fan of the classics then you can't go wrong with this one. Some of the best games ever made are on this disc and I am really happy to have it as part of my collection.
