I freaking love this game, man!
I freaking love this game, it is so much charm, charisma and sheer fun.
first of all graphics:
The cartoon and hand painted animation cells really really work with this title. i know people now mostly judge a game on how realistic it looks but if they tried this with this game then it simply would'nt have had the same effect. this game reminds me so much of chrono trigger and even the ps1 game alundra or whatever it was. the simple but effective character animation also looks superb with many tweak even just to the charcters faces when the dialouge screen appears.
Secondly gameplay,
The gameplay in this game is plain old-school style rpg crazy. agian with elements of chrono trigger thrown in the combat is both nice to look at as well as engaging, and its actully quite tough depending on where you are. the combat system is easy to get the hang of whitch is very important. my largest dislike for playing most rpg's is the sheer overwhelming factor but this game gives you loads to do but makes everything seem very managable with it bloody is.
This game even throws in a view cool extras that you would expect, Synthesising items in each stop increases or decreases it popularity depending on what recipies you make with your ingredients, you can do this in the local taveren or in the local magic store. you can also collect items for a weird woman and she gives you money. also the number of items is huge even the weapons are fun.
This is one of the better console rpg's i've ever played and i really enjoy playing it. if anyone out there wants to start playing rpg's but can choose, get this gem of a title.
