Ok, the two pervious versions of the game on the PS2 and GameCube really sucked! Now that I have said that I would like to then say that the Xbox version is truly a great game. The game is a arcade racer that allows you to select from a nice sized variety of popular tuner cars from the top companies. Then you get to select a garage to store you can in. Once this is done you can begin to customize you car with the available body accessories from companies like Veilside and some custom ones made by the developers for the game. Once done you continue onto the races where you compete in a series of races which are grouped by place. When you get a couple stages further in the game you begin to compete in Gran Prix style races that have you race in about 4 track of the same type ie: all up and downhill tracks and all street tracks. The catch here is that you have to race all 4 tracks in a row. You can't just race one quit and come back to the second race later. It make so compete in alll 4 in one sitting. This add a level is difficulty in that you must tune your car right in order to be able to preform and handle in all four tracks. Like I said earlier this game is a arcade racing game not a simulatiion game like Gran Turismo, Fornza, or Sega Gt. This means that the cars tend to not act exactly like the real thing. You can do exagerated slide through corners and run into a wall at full speed and not lose all your momentum. This has been one of the areas that most people complained about in the game. You would drift way to much and the car was really hard to handle in turns, but the Xbox version fixes these problems. THe cars handle a lot more responsively on the Xbox and allow you greater control of the cars. This is only aided even more by the superior design of the Xbox controller for racing games. The sound in Auto Modellisa is alright. While the cars' sounds are different the sound track in the game is not one to right home about. There are a couple songs that I liked, but I wold have liked to see the custom sound track feature in this game. Now the graphics in Auto Modellisa are what really got my attention. I love cel shading. The graphics are fantastic. The game really does a good job at using cel shading to capture the design of every car and the sense os speed as the air whisps around you. Plus it's always looks nice when the car backfires on you (^-^). Overall I think that this game was very enjoyable, but not that challenging. The game does allow you to go online and play mutiplayer with other, but I have yet to do that. I would love to suggest this game to everyone, but I honestly have to say that it is not a game for everyone. You either like it or hate it. I had a lot of fun with it and really enjoyed the grahpics. So if you like arcadey racing games and cel shading at least rent the game or buy it, it's not that expensive now.
