Avatar the legend of Aang : the burning earth is based on the second series of the popular TV show avatar the last air bender. In the series this is where it became interesting to me with a better story than the 1st, but this is not portrayed well in this game, the story of the game is a hollowed out shortened version of the series portrayed through badly made cut scenes in which there mouths don't move and they take random stances for no reason. There are the occasional ones that seem to only be for the crucial parts of the story that are made well mirroring the tv program. The end to the story is pathetic ……being nice. The end was sudden and cut out the major part to the plot, the battle of ba-sing-say, wich would have been the saving point of the game.

The game is not all bad the gameplay is good, simplistic fun with characters being controllable at once both with individual styles and abilities with all characters that you would expect to be there are like Aang katara and new character toph. Evan 2 you don't expect, zuko and his uncle make an appearance as playable characters. The gameplay is simple combo based and fits the series nicely and is fun to play but most experienced gamers will probably get through it in about 5-7 hrs but is good while it lasts. The boss battles are simple the 2 people gang up on 1 opponent but most of them end up in the same way with Aang entering the avatar state this is a contact sensitive cut scenes that seem to be all the same , boss character knocks katara down with either fire, earth or lightning, Aang gets angry, glows and shoots a big tornado.

Overall avatar the legend of Aang the burning earth is a game based for its fans. Don't like the tv series don't like this its that simple. It's a good play between games but don't expect a perfect representation of the story of season 2

P.S I played the ps2 version; I would expect that the Xbox 360 and wii versions wouldn't have the same problems with the cut scenes
