Ahh, the Intellivision. A marvel in its day, and I was a proud owner of this fantastic WWII bomber simulator. B17 Bomber was far ahead of its time. On the more difficult levels, the player would have to decide fuel and ordinance to bring along on the many bombing missions the game provided. Load too many bombs, and your gas would run out and airspeed would max too early. Too few bombs, and you may not have enough to claim your targets.

The B17 was based out of Great Britain, and various targets were placed on a map of Europe. The pilot would select a target and set out for it. Fly to close to an anti-aircraft installment, and flak would rock your bomber. Fly to close to an airstrip, and "Bandits, in sight" would sound over the Intellivoice module.

Computer generated voice technology was a marvel in 1982. 1983's film "War Games" featured a similar voice module asking Dr. Falken if he'd like to play a game of chess, and having a voice-puter of your own was one of the coolest kid toys around.

More than that B17-Bomber was a very good bomber simulator. I once spent an entire day clearing Europe of targets, only to find that result was that the map refilled itself with new targets! Ahh, the days when games had no end...
