This game prepared me for substandard video game adaptions for movies.

I got this game one Christmas and my first reaction was one of disappointment. But since my parents bought it for me, I forced myself to play it. It isn’t the worst game out there, but it did prepare me for crappy use of a movie license for video games.

The graphics, even by NES standards, are below average. The characters look as if they came from an Atari 2600 game. The graphics were neither colorful nor detailed. They were simple, blocky, and bland. I actually felt that game technology had regressed when I played this game. The only thing worse than the graphics was the sound. The same song droned over and over again. Even to this day I can hum it. Not that it was memorable, but more that it was burned into my subconscious through sheer repetition. The sound effects were on par to an Atari game, which is at least consistent with the graphics quality. The game play was simple. You moved around and dodge a hodgepodge of obstacles. At the end of each level is a mini game that, at least, broke the monotony.

If I never received this as a gift from my parents, I would have never had anything to do with this game. It may be good as a time waster, but if you are looking for anything more you will be sorely disappointed. There are much worse games out there, but there are also much better games as well.
