RPG Fan? Then this is your Game, Involving almost every type of RPG into One!
Graphics are superd, You wont see smoother attack animation, or Flashier in any othe rgame on the SNES.
Gameplay - Now this is where it all lays. Basically when you start a battle you are dropped into a map. Here you have the Leaders of each group which u can direct and offcourse their Dragon. Each group leader represents 4 Warriors, 1 being the leader plus three others. When deciding to attack you have several options. Do you blast them right now? on the map? freezing the water, burnign the grass or destroying the fortress walls whilst doing so? Or do you go close combat and enter Final Fantasy style and Make each character do their own seperate move?
You command your dragons less directly with commands that either tell the dragon to go and seek and destroy or follow you around and kill targets you yourself attack. These dragons then either blow the enemy apart on the world battle field, or may choose to enter FF style and blow them. You dragons look amazing like everything in this game, and they evolve depending on what you feed them outside of battle. Before battles you are normally on a ship and you are able to sell, buy items and talk to everyone. You feed your dragon anything, from swords and armor to books and mushrooms.
Truley an amazing game that has to be played to understand. The story is excellent as well, revolving around summoners and mighty dragons which can be called as you get them. An emvil empire whishes to controll them but you are out to stop him and it carries well from there.
The charcters have very good development, and are traditional classes such as warrior, black mage, white mage and summoner archtypes but also lots more like Javlineers and ninjas.
I recommend this to anyone remotly interested in RPG's of any kind.
