Take one part Gauntlet and one part Diablo, add repetition, stir, and bring to a boil.

User Rating: 6.7 | Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PCCW The Best) PS2
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance is Snowblind Studio's hack'n'slash answer to Gauntlet and Diablo. In fact, it's so much inspired by those games, that the similarities are all too apparent, which hurts the game more than it helps it. The game can become very repetitive very fast. The good parts of the game, such as the story line, graphics, and gameplay, can sometimes be overshadowed by the repetitiveness. Unfortunately, that is the nature of hack'n'slash games. What is nice about this game is that it does require a strategy to get through it. However, you can finish this game in less than a week and it doesn't really provide a strong enough method of leveling up. So, the game sort of forces you to play it through a few times again and again to level up your character. All in all, the game is a nice treat for RPG fans, specifically those who are enamored by the D&D series.
