A very good game that proves that a game doesn't need to have a high polygon count to look good.

User Rating: 9.3 | Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PCCW The Best) PS2
It dawned on me while watching my brothers play this game that a game does not have to have a high polygon to get a good graphics rating. This occurred to me as I was watching the very shiny iron shield glisten on the screen. As humans we are naturally drawn to attractive looking things, so if there are many good looking things such as water reflecting light and shiny objects it is bound to intrigue us. In this game there are many nice looking things that are perfectly portrayed in this game including the very attractive looking women to the very nice looking items to the very cool looking magic.

The story in this game was pretty good as it starts with the main character in Baldur's Gate getting robbed. The story and side quests revolve around this character and his endeavors, one of which is retrieving his equipment which was stolen. One might recognize the world in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance from the some of the books by R. A. Salvatore and Doug Niles.

The voice acting is exquisite, the sound effects perfect and the music very fitting for the game's theme.

Overall a very good game though not exactly what I picture when I think of role playing games.
