A great Baldur's Gate spin-off and excellent Diablo clone!

Dark Alliance is a pure hack and slash Action RPG in which you will kill lots monsters and pick up a lot of loot. The game includes 3 heroes with different skills sets and the quest is separated in 3 Acts. The story is not as fleshed as it could of been, but it serves this type of game well. The graphic engine is excellent, every character and monster is well animated and the backgrounds are extremely detailed. The whole package is beautiful to look at! The sound is also excellent, you will feel every weapon swing and hit you make. The musical score really helps to put you in the mood and on your toes whenever a hectic battle is coming up.

The gameplay is standard Diablo. You kill lots of monsters, collect a lot of loot, teleport back to the nearby town to sell and buy stuff. Rinse and repeat. Your character will gains levels and you'll be able to upgrades your skills or add new ones. One of the strong part of the game is how well you can control your hero.

This game offers the right amount of challenge for anyone. There's checkpoints at key areas to avoid any frustrations which is nice. I only wish this game was longer, most people will be able to finish it under 10 hrs (took me 8hrs). Most people won't bother playing the game with another hero, instead they should try it out with a friend on Co-op which is pretty sweet. Hacking and slashing with a friend is a great time waster!!

Dark Alliance is an excellent action RPG in which you should check out.
