Inaccurate controls kill this game. However a classic game which fans of the genre should have played at least once.

I liked this game a lot when it came out. The graphics were great: big, good looking sprites and detailed backgrounds. The music is not spectacular but good enough. This was one of the first fighting games I played which had different names and sprites for the opponents; the in the famous System 3 International Karate series, only the color of the opponents clothes changed. Comparing this game to that games series however, it is clear that Bangkok Knights biggest flaw is the inaccurate control. What makes International Karate a great game – the great sense of control over you character, just isn’t there in Bangkok Knights. This is partly due to the fact that you in Bangkok Knights move in semi 3D, being able to move up and down, whereas the International Karate is a true 2D fighting game. Sadly, soon 20 years after its release, this game just isn’t worth much more than an hours play on an emulator. That however, everyone interested in fighting game history, should do.
