Sweet, Sweet, Nostalgia. Its been so long since we went down memory lane to play this platformer.
For people that have never heard of Banjo Kazooie before let me rundown what this platformer has going for itself. You play as a bear who has a bird that fits in his backpack. Your sister has been captured by an evil witch so you run around through plenty creative world collecting jiggies and musical notes to get to the ultimate final boss and save the day.
This is probably one of the best plaformers you can find as the variety of missions is HUGE. you will never find yourself doing a similar mission twice. The levels are creative and well constructed from atmospheric Mad Monster Mansion to the enormous Click Clock Wood. There is plenty here to keep you occupied, especially if you collect all the jiggies and music notes, which i felt compelled to do on my first place through and didnt feel right moving on to the next level till i 100% the level before it.
So if this game is so good why did i give it an 8.5? Simply because the nostalgia wears off. Granted it doesnt wear off when your playing the game. I had fun playing it right to the very end, with i smile on my face getting to see the game again after all these years. But once that playthrough is over your desire to play it again is lost and it becomes an arcade game that i more admire than i do play. Which for me is not a bad thing but for others replayability is a factor. I will defenitly buy Banjo Tooie on the XBLA when it comes out and have fun reliving that memory of my life in April. Hope this helped!
