Banjo Kazooie is one of those game you just don't see anymore. It is one of the best 3D platformers out there.
The game is very similar to Super Mario 64. You travel through different worlds in search of puzzle pieces (similar to the stars in Mario). There are 10 pieces in each world. You usually have to do a task for someone or defeat a boss to obtain all 10 in each world. You also have to collect 100 notes and honeycomb pieces. The honeycomb pieces increase your life bar and you need to obtain notes to open new doors to new worlds. There are also other things to collect but they aren't completely necessary. That is really the basic concept of this game.
All eight worlds are very well detailed and have great music. There are many puzzles to solve, new areas to explore, and new abilities to obtain.
Banjo can do the basic things like jump. run. etc. In the game you can gain the ability to fly, run very fast, and walk steep hills all with the help of his partner Kazooie.
My only complaint about the game is that it is very childish. When I first played it in '98 it seemed fine, but whenever I go back to play it again I feel like a little kid again. Overall the gameplay is so great that it doesnt bother me to much. Also the collecting everything in the game can be very tedious, but without a doubt this game is pure fun. Throughout time Banjo-Kazooie still proves to be one of the greatest platformers ever made. It will be one of those game that you can never forget.
